KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Dewan Rakyat speaker Nga Kor Ming will be called up to Bukit Aman in connection with a Facebook page that allegedly insulted the Sultan of Selangor, says Datuk Mazlan Mansor.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police said that the police would record Nga's statement on Tuesday (Oct 8).
"We have called him up to record his statement pertaining to the case. His statement will be recorded tomorrow," he told a press conference after launching the National Forensic Symposium for Law Enforcement (NAFSLE) at the Police Training College on Monday (Oct 7).
Mazlan said police are currently investigating the case following the reports lodged over the "Nga Kor Ming Super Fans Page, which allegedly insulted Selangor's Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
"We are taking the necessary steps in the investigation, including recording statements from those who can assist us. Let the police get to the bottom of the matter," he said.
It was reported that the Perak DAP chief had said the Facebook page was not linked to him nor DAP but was masquerading as such.

It was reported that the Perak DAP chief had said the Facebook page was not linked to him nor DAP but was masquerading as such.
In a statement, he said that there were at least two pages called "Nga Kor Ming Super Fans Page" which showed that they had existed since November 2018 and August this year.
Nga said that the allegations by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak that the page was linked to him were baseless.
He added that he had ordered his senior private secretary Tan Tiong Yih to lodge a police report and to provide the authorities with the evidence of a conspiracy.- Star
