On The Malay Dignity Congress

*It’s Time to Call a Spade a Spade!*
DrM’s speech at the Malay Dignity Congress is slightly out of tune with the spirit of New Malaysia which reformist, Anwar Ibrahim has preached all this while.
In fact, there is nothing positive coming out of the congress; except that it looks very much like another UMNO general assembly where they bash others in order to become rising stars.
This is not the spirit of Pakatan Harapan. By posing along with people like Pas president Abdul Hadi Awang and Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa, it is giving people the impression that birds of the same feather flock together.
On one hand, DrM runs down the Malay race, calling them lazy and a race that quickly forgets the benefits given to them; on the other hand, he is now fanning up racial sentiments. This is not going to make him a statesman at his age.
I have been observing these old tricks of his, which had not worked well in the past and it is unlikely to work today especially in post-GE14 Malaysia where Malaysians continue to reject people who play on racial and religious cards.
DrM has to remember that as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, he has to live to the expectation of all Malaysians instead of speaking only on behalf of one race. Even Bersatu President, Muhyiddin Yasin is wise not to attend the Malay Dignity Congress.
By trying to be a champion of the Malays himself, DrM has gone against everything that PH believes in – that we are all Malaysians, irrespective of race, religion or political background.
What most Malaysians, including DrM abhors the most is when we have kleptocrats who bring down the reputation of the nation as a whole. Both Najib Abdul Razak (a Malay) and Jho Low (a Chinese) are the worst examples of kleptocracy.
It is not the Malays as a race that non-Malays look down upon, but those who continuously harp on race and religion for their political survival. Malaysians are wise enough to discern this.
DrM should be more concerned that we are now known as a nation of kleptokrats than to think that Malay dignity is destroyed by non-Malays in this country.
The fact remains that no one owes anyone a living. Individually, we have to work very hard to be successful. Instead of asking for handouts, we should work with our own hands if we want to achieve great wealth rather than feeling jealous of the success of other people.
Contrary to what the organising chairman Zainal Kling said, Malaysia was established for all races.
We are basically a multiracial society; therefore, Malaysia is for all tax-paying Malaysians.
Such hate speech by Zainal will be looked down upon, and someone like him should be investigated by the police under Section 504 of the Penal Code for his hate speech.
And DrM is losing his own dignity as a statesman if he continues to play on the racial card.
