Sepang International Circuit gets RM37.5 million under Budget 2020

Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd will be getting an allocation of RM37.5 million under Budget 2020.
According to the federal expenditure report, the allocation is parked under the Youth and Sports Ministry's operating expenditure.
The race track was completed in 1999 and was one of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's key megaprojects back during his first stint in office.
There were no allocations earmarked for it in the 2019 and 2018 budgets.

It is best known for hosting the MotoGP and F1 races. However, the previous BN government ceased to host F1 races in 2018.
Then tourism and culture minister Nazri Abdul Aziz said the government spent RM300 million a year to host the F1 but did not get worthwhile returns.
Mahathir, however, has expressed his desires to see F1 be hosted in Malaysia again.
Meanwhile, regular road users can expect to see repaved federal roads next year.
The Works Ministry's 2020 operating budget includes a RM200 million allocation for scheduled pavements as part of the maintenance of federal roads nationwide.
Maintenance of federal roads in Malaya also has a separate allocation of RM280 million, up from RM80 million this year.
Likewise, the allocation for the maintenance of federal roads in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan has been increased from RM20 million to RM80 million. - Mkini
