KUALA LUMPUR: A shouting match erupted between a DAP MP and those from the opposition after he attempted to cite Nik Aziz Nik Mat, the late PAS spiritual leader, when pushing for the deportation of controversial preacher Dr Zakir Naik.
RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) had asked Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on the need to allow Naik, whom he said had caused division among the races, to stay in the country.
Rayer then cited a YouTube video featuring Nik Aziz, who had apparently said that God had put people of different races in Malaysia.
This led to Che Abdullah Mat Nawi (PAS-Tumpat) challenging Rayer to state God’s name.
Che Abdullah then said he will mention God’s name for Rayer – a self-professed Nik Aziz fan – to follow.
The DAP politician ticked off Che Abdullah, saying: “Tumpat, if you followed Tok Guru (Nik Aziz), you will not accept bribes. You’re stupid.”
Che Abdullah then said it was Rayer’s finance minister who accepted bribes, referring to Lim Guan Eng, who is also from DAP.
Shahidan Kassim (BN-Arau) then stood up, demanding that Rayer retract the word “bodoh, which he had used against Che Abdullah.
“So the word ‘bodoh’ is allowed?” Shahidan asked after being seemingly ignored, before letting out a loud “bodoh” directed at Rayer.
