Youth arrested in Penang over alleged LTTE links

Another youth has been picked up by officers from Bukit Aman in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, over his alleged links with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam Liberation Tiger (LTTE).
A source confirmed the arrest of 25-year-old Thanaraj Sivam, a store assistant, in Bukit Minyak at 10am today.
"We were alerted to his arrest by his family as he is a member of our NGO," the source told Malaysiakini.
This brings the number of suspects detained under the Special Offences (Security Measures) Act (Sosma) to 10.

On Oct 11, seven including two DAP leaders were nabbed and alleged to have promoted, supported, and had possessed materials and distributed funds involving the LTTE.
According to Special Branch's Counter-Terrorism Division chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, Police has 28 days to probe the matter under Special Offences (Security Measures) Act (Sosma).
Ayob did not rule out the possibility of more individuals being detained to assist in the investigation. - Mkini
