Covid-19 (Nov 12): 2,882 new cases, 9 deaths

 

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 2,882 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,946,583.

Active cases stood at 31,209, down 0.5 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another nine deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as “brought in dead”.

Over the past week, an average of 7.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on an uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, 36,546 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

The state with the highest number of deaths was Selangor (3) followed by Penang (2), Perak (1), Sabah (1), Terengganu (1), and Kuala Lumpur (1).

There are 1,780 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 84 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (141), followed by Sabah (95) and Johor (60). - Mkini
