In a tweet, Muhyiddin Yassin posted a photo of his meeting with Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang. (Twitter pic)
PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang held a meeting with Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg to discuss the formation of a federal government.
“Negotiations are also being held with other parties and independent MPs. God willing, a federal government can be formed soon.”
Abang Johari is the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman.
Muhyiddin said PN received a letter from Istana Negara with specific instructions on the requirements it needs to fulfill.
He insisted, though, that PN would not work with Pakatan Harapan.
PH, together with Muda, so far have the highest number of seats with 82.
This was followed by PN (73), Barisan Nasional (30), GPS (22), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (6), Warisan (3), Parti Bangsa Malaysia (1) and two independents.
