An operation for urgent vaccination in the Klang Valley will see all registered individuals aged 18 and above, in the area receiving at least their first dose by Aug 1.
The operation dubbed, Surge Capacity, will take place between July 26 and Aug 1, minister in charge of coordinating the vaccination efforts, Khairy Jamaluddin, said.
After that, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor vaccine centres will be open for walk-ins to "mop up" the remainder adult population who were not registered or unrecorded, like undocumented migrants, he said.
As such, Khairy urged the remaining 11 percent of adults in the Klang Valley to register for vaccination as soon as possible.
The operation comes as Covid-19 cases continue to surge unabated in the Klang Valley.
Today, 5,512 cases were recorded in Selangor while 1,542 cases were recorded in Kuala Lumpur. This is out of 12,541 reported nationwide.
