KUALA LUMPUR: MIC today announced several key appointments for the 2024-2027 term, including the elevation of its treasurer-general M Ramasamy to the post of vice-president effective yesterday.
Party president SA Vigneswaran confirmed this when contacted by Bernama, saying that the position of treasurer-general has now been taken over by Segambut division chief N Sivakumar.
he said.All the individuals appointed will play crucial roles in empowering the party, effective yesterday until the next party elections, which are expected in 2027,
He also confirmed several other appointments, including AK Ramalinggam as the party’s new information chief, N Rawisandran as MIC building chairman, N Muneandy as national organising secretary and AT Kumararajah as executive secretary.
In addition, former information chief R Thinalan has been given a new role as national strategy officer, while central working committee member L Siva Subramaniam has been appointed as chairman of the national media bureau.
In August, Vigneswaran appointed S Ananthan, the Kedah MIC chairman, as the new party secretary-general. - FMT
