
Ramanan said he had informed PKR president Anwar Ibrahim of his intention following discussions with party leaders and members nationwide.
“My goal is to strengthen and empower PKR at all levels, from the grassroots to the central leadership,” he said in a statement on Facebook.
“The spirit of our struggle must align with the Malaysia Madani agenda. I believe that together, we can achieve the best for our nation’s future.”
The four vice-presidents elected in 2022 are Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun, and federal ministers Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Chang Lih Kang.
All four have confirmed that they will be defending their positions.
Other leaders who have thrown their hats into the ring are former Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil.
Elections for the committee members and women and youth wing leaders at the divisional level will be held from April 11 to 20.
Elections for the central leadership council and national heads of the women and youth wings will be held on May 24. - FMT
