KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 — A 43-year-old man has died from gunshot wounds after being attacked while driving along Jalan Rasah, near Seremban, in what police believe was a gang-related incident.
According to The Star, the victim, who was reportedly a bodyguard-cum-driver for another man in the same vehicle, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.
Seremban District Police Chief, Deputy Commissioner Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, said the attack occurred at around 7.30am during the morning rush hour, near Mambau and heading towards the Port Dickson toll plaza.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that a motorcycle-riding assailant fired at the car as it approached the toll plaza. We believe the motive was revenge linked to gang rivalry,” DCP Alzafny said, adding that investigations are ongoing.
The second victim, also in his 40s, remains hospitalised.
Police said he is a suspect in a slashing incident at a shopping mall in April.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and Section 3 of the Firearms Act (Increased Penalties) 1971. - malaymail
