Selangor PAS has thanked the Selangor government for supporting the anti-DAP demonstration dubbed as the “Daulat Tuanku Rally”, which will be held in Shah Alam this Saturday.
However, its Youth chief Sukri Omar said the party still questions the state government’s stance for allegedly failing to take any action against Seri Kembangan assemblyperson Wong Siew Ki.
According to Sukri (above), the state government’s support for the rally is insufficient if no further action is taken against the DAP representative.
“I thank the state government for showing commitment in supporting this rally, but why has the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson not faced any action in the Selangor state assembly? That is what we are asking,” he told Malaysiakini, responding to the state government’s support for the rally.
Yesterday, Selangor exco Najwan Halimi welcomed the upcoming PAS Youth demonstration in Shah Alam this weekend, saying that the police had been requested to facilitate the gathering, and refreshments would be provided for participants.
‘Harapan has majority, can take action’
Sukri added that if the state government was truly aligned in defending the Selangor royal institution, Wong should have been referred to the state assembly rights and privileges committee.

“The Selangor state assembly today has many DAP assemblypersons, along with PKR and Amanah leaders. Why can’t they decide to take action against the DAP lawmaker?
“If they say they cannot do it because the state government and the speaker are separated, at the very least, the Pakatan Harapan-led state government holds the majority, and they can take action against the assemblyperson involved. They can issue a joint consensus statement.
“The Selangor government should state that it disagrees with the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson’s remarks,” he said.
Sukri said Selangor PAS Youth hopes the state government will express a clearer stance on the matter rather than merely supporting the rally.
“So we hope this is reflected not only in supporting our rally but also by taking action against the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson,” he added.
Uniting royal defenders
Additionally, Sukri said the rally was organised to unite the voices of youths in defending the Selangor royal institution.
He said various political parties and NGOs had been invited to participate - including Berjasa, Pejuang, Perkasa, and Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia.

“This rally is more about uniting the voices of youths in defending the Selangor royal institution.
“We are not focused on figures, but on the people attending and how they express their loyalty and love for the royal institution in Selangor,” Sukri said.
According to him, participants would submit a memorandum of loyalty to the Selangor sultan at Istana Kayangan at around 4pm, before gathering and performing congregational prayers at the state mosque.
He said participants were then expected to march to the Selangor state secretariat building, where various figures, including historians and legal experts, would be making speeches.
However, Sukri declined to reveal their identities due to security concerns and fears of “sabotage”.
Pig farming controversy
On Monday, Selangor PAS Youth announced the anti-DAP demonstration named the “Daulat Tuanku Rally” in front of the state secretariat building in Shah Alam this Saturday.
Participants are encouraged to wear yellow, and the 5pm gathering is aimed at protesting against DAP leaders allegedly disrespecting the sovereignty of the royal institution.
They are also voicing out against the stance of DAP leaders who urged the government to consider the use of modern pig farming systems and did not differentiate pig farming from other livestock farming.

However, the palace wants Selangor to move away from pig farming entirely and rely on imported supplies instead.
Last month, during the debate on the royal address in the Selangor state assembly, Wong urged the state government to consider modern pig farming systems and noted that the issue touched on equality rights under the Federal Constitution.
Following that, a heated exchange erupted in the state assembly after opposition representatives attempted to table an emergency motion to refer Wong to disciplinary proceedings.
Selangor PAS Youth and Selangor BN accused the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson of being disrespectful for allegedly questioning the Selangor sultan’s decree on the pig farming issue.
However, Wong had also expressed support for the ruler’s concern for the well-being of Selangor residents and environmental sustainability, stressing that no industrial or farming activity should be allowed if it causes pollution.
On May 7, the sultan reaffirmed his stance that he did not consent to any pig farming activities being carried out in any district in Selangor.
The ruler also stressed that the issue of pig farming should be halted and conclusively resolved, “full stop”, to avoid unrest and ensure peace and harmony among the people. - Mkini
