KUALA LUMPUR: Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin will take up a new position as federal Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director in a reshuffle which will also affect three other senior officers.
Police corporate communications chief Assistant Commissioner Julina Salehuddin, in a statement, said Penang deputy police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin will replace Noor Hisam in Perak.
She said Alwi will be promoted to the rank of commissioner, commensurate with his new position.
In turn, Police Secretary Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rahman Kassim will fill Alwi's previous position in Penang.
Julina said Pahang Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Datuk Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali will be promoted to the rank of deputy commissioner and take up the position of police secretary.
The statement, however, did not say whether these changes are effective immediately. - NST
