Iskandar Puteri police say the buildings are believed to have been targeted by a syndicate from Singapore.

The Iskandar Puteri police headquarters said in a statement an investigation is being carried out under Section 5(2) of the Moneylenders Act 1951 for unlicensed moneylending activities, and Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire, Bernama reported.
Iskandar Puteri MP Liew Chin Tong visited the houses, which are believed to have been targeted by an unlicensed moneylending syndicate from Singapore.
In a Facebook post, he expressed his appreciation to Bukit Indah police chief JM Alvin Sudesshen for his swift action upon receiving a report.
Liew, who is also the Perling assemblyman, expressed support for the residents’ initiative to enhance safety facilities. He said welfare assistance will be channelled to those affected, with follow-up action to be taken. - FMT
