DAP Youth secretary Lim Chun Weng has urged caretaker Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi to explain his claim that he was recently prevented from entering Felda Ulu Belitong in Kluang for an event over the last weekend, forcing it to be moved to Dewan Dato' Onn in Sri Lambak.
Lim pointed out that Felda falls under the purview of Rural and Regional Development Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is Umno president, while Felda chairperson Ahmad Shabery Cheek is also an Umno leader.
Johor caretaker menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi “It is exceedingly strange if an Umno menteri besar was prohibited from entering Felda areas under the purview of Umno leaders.
“If true, the people have a right to know who was responsible and what the reasons were for such action,” he said in a statement, adding that an explanation would prevent speculation.
Meanwhile, Zahid told Berita Harian this morning that “there are no orders or prohibitions in place to prevent the menteri besar from entering Felda areas”. - Mkini
