KUALA LUMPUR: The Perikatan Nasional (PN) emergency Supreme Council meeting tonight focused on coalition matters, including potential new membership, but did not discuss Bersatu's position within the opposition bloc.
PN deputy president and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the party's membership in PN was not raised during the meeting, adding that Bersatu remained firmly in the coalition.
"We did not discuss Bersatu's membership. Bersatu remains and will stay forever (in PN).
"But the issue of new membership (in PN) was raised," he told reporters after the meeting at the PAS headquarters compound here.
The meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 8.30pm, ended at 11.30pm.
Muhyiddin was seen leaving the Pas building together with Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu shortly after the meeting ended, without waiting for the press conference. - NST
