Foreign minister Mohamad Hasan presented the instruments of appointment to both at Wisma Putra in Putrajaya today, Bernama reported.
Wisma Putra said Nadzirah holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Malaya and joined the public service as an administrative and diplomatic officer in 1994.
She had served as the permanent representative of Malaysia to the UN in Geneva, Switzerland, since 2023.
She had also previously served as Malaysia’s ambassador to the Czech Republic and ambassador to the Netherlands.
She also served at Malaysia’s diplomatic missions in Mexico City, Mexico and London.
At the ministry, she had served in the Eastern European and American divisions.
Zanariah holds a Master’s degree in public policy from the Graduate School of International Politics, Japan, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK.
She joined the public service as an administrative and diplomatic officer in 1995.
Prior to this appointment, she had served as director-general of the Asean-Malaysia national secretariat at Wisma Putra since 2021.
She was appointed as Malaysia’s ambassador to the Czech Republic and deputy permanent representative of Malaysia to Asean in Jakarta, and had served at Malaysia’s diplomatic missions in Caracas, Venezuela and Santiago (Chile). - FMT
