Finance minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan says 80% of BUDI95 subsidy recipients are using less than 200 litres of petrol every month.

Finance minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan said it is still too early for the government to make any decision on the possibility of returning the quota to 300 litres, Bernama reported.
He said the government needs time to monitor the recently announced ceasefire and assess its effectiveness and impact on the oil market.
He noted that it would take 60 days for the US and Iran to finish their discussions.
“So we have to wait and see if this (peace deal) can last and the overall implications,” he told reporters.
He said although the quota has dropped from 300 litres to 200 litres, motorists were able to manage the situation.
Amir said almost 80% of BUDI95 subsidy recipients used less than 200 litres of petrol every month.
“Efforts, such as working from home, will also reduce the use of petrol,” he said.
He also said private diesel jeeps or pickups may request an additional 100 litres. This is to help small traders and those in the interior who have to travel long distances.
He said apart from private diesel vehicle owners, access to subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre via MyKad has also been extended to river boat operators and genset owners in rural areas. - FMT
