PETALING JAYA:
Johor regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim tonight revealed that he was keeping tabs on the state government to ensure policies, projects and directives are implemented.

Tunku Ismail, who is also known as TMJ, said he would seek an explanation from Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi and the state secretary over any unresolved issues, Sinar Harian reported.

“You can ask the menteri besar and state secretary. I would call them, even at 3am, to ask why some things had not been completed,” he was quoted as saying.

Therefore, Tunku Ismail said, no party should accuse the state government of failing to fulfil its responsibilities to the people.

Nor should anyone claim that Johoreans are being ill-treated or that the state government was not doing its job.

“I am monitoring my government. I make sure that it does its job,” he said.

Tunku Ismail said Johor only needed leaders who could implement initiatives that would benefit the people and not “politics filled with promises and theories”.

He said he is not one for “pledges or fairytales” and just wanted things done.

“If there is a vision, it must be executed. Otherwise, it is merely a hallucination,” he said.

Tunku Ismail also said the people must judge a government based on facts, its performance, the ability to go to the ground, and results.

He said making promises and finding fault with the government is easy when one is in the opposition, but not everyone has the ability to administer the state. - FMT
