Beng Hock Association list demands for endorsement in Johor polls

 

• The Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement has called on parties contesting the upcoming Johor election to support the group’s demands for justice over Teoh’s death.

  In a statement today, association chairperson Koong Hui Yein said that it will urge Johor voters, at a commendation event during the election campaign period, to support candidates who endorse the group’s demands.

  Koong said the association will distribute endorsement forms to the candidates, who have until July 1 to fill up and return them.

  The demands are: international criminal investigation experts to be invited to examine Teoh’s case under Section 302 of the Penal Code, take action against those who perpetrated violence against the aide, and implement sweeping institutional reforms that include reforms to the MACC as well as the enactment of an anti-torture legislation. - Mkini
