The PH communications director says the spread of false information and unverified claims is expected to rise ahead of Saturday's polling day.

Speaking at a ceramah in Senggarang tonight, Fahmi said misinformation often increases in the run-up to an election.
“I want to remind everyone that in this remaining period of about 36 hours before polling day, we will face all sorts of slanderous news, all sorts of fake news, and all sorts of things claiming to be true.
“I urge everyone to make sure you get information from credible sources. Please refer to mainstream media if you doubt the veracity (of the information),” he said in his speech.
Fahmi also called for Johor voters to support a party aligned with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s federal administration, saying this is important in managing national issues, including the RM51.4 billion 1MDB debt burden.
He cited Thursday’s Dewan Rakyat sitting, where deputy finance minister Liew Chin Tong said the government’s total 1MDB-related liabilities stood at RM51.4 billion, with RM42.5 billion already paid.
“This is an extremely large burden. If we gathered all the country’s assets and used them to settle the debt, we would still be short by about RM20 billion, which the prime minister would have to manage.
“That’s why we need leadership in Johor that is aligned with the PM. So, this Saturday we have no other choice, we must free Johor, we must vote PH,” he said. - FMT
