SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim concluded a nearly three-hour audience with Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at Istana Hinggap here today.
Ismail, who arrived at 10.50am for the 11am audience, left the palace grounds via the back gate, avoiding media members gathered outside.
The session is believed to be linked to the ongoing palace and custom crisis in the state.
Vehicles carrying Rembau Undang Hassan Ab Hamid and Sungei Ujong Undang Muhammad Faris Johari were seen leaving the palace at 1.48pm.
Hassan lowered his window to wave at media personnel, stating that discussions had yet to conclude.
Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, who was also present, declined to comment further, describing the session as confidential.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had previously directed Ismail to seek an audience with Tuanku Muhriz to address the ongoing custom crisis.
Zahid, who is also the Umno president, said an optimal solution must be found at the state level to prevent further complications and protect public interest. - NST
