Six escape unhurt after tree falls onto two cars

 

IPOH: Six people escaped unhurt after a tree fell onto two cars along Jalan Simpang Pulai-Lahat near Station 18 here today.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department received a distress call at 4.26pm.

He said a team from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene three minutes later.

"The incident involved a Perodua Bezza and a Perodua Alza. All six occupants managed to get out of the vehicles safely and were not injured," he said.

Sabarodzi said members of the public had assisted the occupants before firefighters arrived.

"Firefighters are carrying out cutting operations to remove the fallen tree," he said.

He added that the operation involved seven firefighters and two vehicles, a Light Fire and Rescue Tender (LFRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle. - NST
