Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says this is important to ensure such funds are managed transparently and responsibly.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said the move was important to ensure such funds are managed transparently and responsibly.
He said this after chairing a special Cabinet committee meeting on national governance, which focused on efforts to curb leakages of public funds and abuse of power, particularly involving federal statutory bodies.
Anwar said the meeting also agreed to seven resolutions presented at the 5th National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference on Sept 25.
“The government will continue to strengthen integrity in the public service and close avenues for leakages and abuse of power,” said Anwar.
“Every ringgit in public funds must be safeguarded. Every power entrusted to those in authority must be used to ensure the rakyat’s well-being,” he said. - FMT
