Kiandee reminds Muhyiddin Bersatu sacked 6 MPs for backing Anwar

The suspended party vice-president says Bersatu should apply the same rules to those who signed the CSA with the government yesterday, or reinstate the six it expelled.

PETALING JAYA:
Suspended Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee has questioned the decision by party president Muhyiddin Yassin and five of its MPs to sign a confidence and supply agreement (CSA) with the government, despite Bersatu sacking six former MPs for supporting Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim previously.

The Beluran MP asked if Bersatu would apply the same disciplinary measures against the six MPs involved in the agreement, as it did against those who previously declared support for Anwar.

The six MPs who signed the CSA with the government yesterday were Muhyiddin (Pagoh), Radzi Jidin (Putrajaya), Ali Biju (Saratok), Suhaimi Abdullah (Langkawi), Nazri Abu Hassan (Merbok) and Azman Nasrudin (Padang Serai).

The deal was also signed by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, and the six former Bersatu MPs who were sacked by the party in 2024 for declaring support for the government.

In a Facebook post today, Kiandee recalled how the six former Bersatu MPs were labelled as traitors and had their party memberships terminated for backing Anwar.

“If the same principles are applied, the memberships of these six MPs (who signed the CSA), including the president himself, should also be automatically terminated. Only then would the party be consistent.

“Otherwise, the memberships of the previous six MPs should be reinstated,” he said.

Kiandee sarcastically congratulated the party over its increasingly inconsistent stance, and expressed hope the MPs could use their government allocations before the end of the year.

He also questioned whether the timing of the agreement was linked to preparations for the Melaka state election and the next general election.

“If so, how does this fit with the principles and struggles the party has long defended?” he said. - FMT
