Applications are open from Nov 9 to 15 to all contract-appointed medical officers who began their housemanship between Dec 5, 2016, and Oct 14, 2024.

The ministry said the recruitment is open to all contract-appointed medical officers who began their housemanship training between Dec 5, 2016, and Oct 14, 2024.
This is also open to those whose service contracts had expired.
“To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed their housemanship training and obtained full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council by the closing date of the application,” it said in a statement.
The ministry said eligible and interested officers may submit their applications through the Public Service Commission’s SPA9 system when the recruitment opens.
“For officers successful in securing permanent appointments, the proposed reporting date is Feb 15, 2027,” it added.
The ministry said this exercise is part of the government’s promise to give permanent posts to over 9,000 contract medical officers, as announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim under the 2027 budget.
“This proactive measure is also designed to narrow the staffing gap and ensure the retention of the medical workforce in Sabah and Sarawak remains optimal,” it said. - FMT
