BUT MARKED BY WHOM? PASTOR KOH KNEW HE WAS A ‘MARKED MAN’ FROM DAY ONE

The abducted pastor Raymond Koh had agreed when he was told that he was a “marked man”, according to Harapan Komuniti director Sri Ram KS Gopala Iyer.

He said that when he last met Koh in Shah Alam on Jan 8, Koh was complaining about the stress over the harassment he faced since the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) raided a Harapan Komuniti event in 2011.

The event was a fundraising dinner for the charity and was held in a hall on the premises of the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC). Some of the guests had been Muslims.

“I told him you should have known since DUMC. You are a marked man,” he told a Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) public hearing today.

When asked what was Koh’s response, he said Koh simply agreed.

When told to justify his statement, Sri Ram said Koh had long complained of being followed and photographed by strangers, being stopped by the Immigration Department at the border and then questioned by special branch officers, and receiving prank calls.

He said this had gone on for years since the 2011 raid, but he was unaware if there were any recent incidents.
