PAS offers Kedahans rice, cash and religious camps

Kedah PAS has given a preview of its manifesto for the state, promising free rice, cash handouts and religious camps for youths.
At the launch of Kedah PAS' election machinery last night, state PAS chief Ahmad Fakhruddin Syeikh Fakhrurazi said the "sekampit beras" (a sack of rice) scheme will be limited to qualified individuals.
"This programme is based on our experience with the 'a sack of rice' campaign for rubber tappers... when they were facing a rubber price slump," said Fakhruddin, according to Sinar Harian.
Secondly, Fakhruddin said Kedah PAS plans to reinstate the "Skim Fafala" programme, involving cash handouts for those experiencing bereavement, which was introduced by former Kedah menteri besar Azizan Abdul Razak prior to 2013.
"God willing, if we receive the people's mandate, we will increase the amount from RM500 to RM750," he said.

Lastly, Fakhruddin said Kedah PAS wishes to reinstate the Kem Pembangunan Insan (human development camp) programmes for children and youths from age seven onwards.
According to him, the movers of this country must be loyal to God, have good character, morals and be knowledgeable.
"With knowledge and morals instilled in every child of Kedah, God willing, Kedah will have a great civilisation," he said.
Meanwhile, Fakhruddin said Kedah PAS' intention to field candidates for all 36 state and 15 parliamentary seats in the state was not "syok sendiri" (hot air).
"We have information that PAS can defeat BN on condition that all PAS members work hard by visiting voters, house-to-house.
"Knock on doors. Don't look at the colour of their flags. Meet them and tell them what we're about."
He said party members must be aware that these promises made by the party would mean nothing unless the party wins.
"That is why I urge all PAS members to work hard with the intention of upholding the religion of Allah," he said.- Mkini
