The Kuala Lumpur High Court instructed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his deputy Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to file their defence in Khairuddin Abu Hassan’s RM2.6 billion suit.
The direction was made by High Court deputy registrar M Pavani following case management today. She also instructed that Najib and Zahid should file their applications to strike out the suit, should they choose to do so, before Nov 10.
Justice Ahmad Zaidee Ibrahim fixed Nov 15 for case management.
Khairuddin was represented by lawyer Syed Iskandar Syed Jaafar Al Mahdzar, while the prime minister and his deputy were represented by Yazid Mustaqim.
Former Umno man Khairuddin filed the suit against Najib and Zahid last month for allegedly violating their oath of office, in relation to the origin of the US$681 million (RM2.6 billion) in Najib's personal bank account.
