Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Rafii described former minister Zainuddin Maidin as insolent (kurang ajar) for penning a book titled “pergi mampuslah Umno” (Go to Hell Umno).
Zainuddin had said the book was about his “breakup” with Umno which he claimed had strayed from its struggle.
However, Razlan said whatever problems Umno faces today is due to the actions of its past leaders, including Zainuddin who was information minister.
Razlan claimed that Zainuddin was a failed information minister who is trying to make amends in his old age.
“Therefore, he has become obsessed with seeking publicity through writing in order to gain attention,” Razlan said in a statement today.
He added that Zainuddin was ranting (meroyan) and should stop writing.
“At one time, he had said he wanted to stop writing and many people supported him to quit. None tried to convince him otherwise even though that was what he wanted,” said Razlan.
Razlan said that when Zainuddin was in Umno, the party also saw times of crisis.
But ultimately, he said, Umno succeeded in overcoming the challenges.
