SEPANG – The police are investigating allegations that a senior anti-graft officer had an extramarital affair with a married woman, after several videos supposedly exposing it surfaced online.
“If we have to make arrests, we will. But as of now we haven’t made any.
“You have to give us enough time to investigate this matter,” said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
“We are trying hard to find those responsible. As far as I know, the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) has not made a (police) report,” he said after launching the KLIA police headquarters here.
DIFFICULT TO DETECT?
MEANWHILE, according to The Malaysian Insight:
POLICE today confirmed that a senior Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officer is being investigated for enticing a married woman with the intent of having illicit intercourse.
Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the case was being investigated under Section 498 of the Penal Code, which refers to such an offence.
Those found guilty face up to two years’ jail, a fine, or both.
“The investigation is ongoing. We are in the process of determining the facts. If need be, we will arrest ,” said Fuzi.
“Give us time to investigate this matter. It is not easy for us to detect (who is responsible), but we are trying hard to find out who it is,” he told reporters when asked to comment on a video alleging an extramarital affair between a senior MACC official and a married woman.
