SEMENYIH POLLS
| Both Pakatan Harapan and BN are set to stage large ceramah sessions tomorrow, in the run-up to polling for the Semenyih by-election on Saturday.
According to a poster being circulated on the campaign trail, Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be speaking at Taman Pelangi at 9pm on that day.
Meanwhile, Umno and PAS are holding a joint ceramah at Bandar Bukit Mahkota, which is slated to begin at 7pm.
The poster states that acting Umno president Mohamad Hasan will share a stage with PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
However, despite the two-hour head start, the itinerary for the Umno-PAS event also includes maghrib and ishak prayers, which typically conclude at around 9pm.
The by-election for the Selangor seat was triggered by the death of Harapan incumbent Bakhtiar Mohd Nor on Jan 11.
It will witness a four-cornered fight among the late Bakthiar's son-in-law Muhammad Aiman Zainali, BN's Zakaria Hanafi, PSM' Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul and independent candidate Kuan Chee Heng.
Early voting took place yesterday, with the Election Commission recording a 78 percent turnout. - Mkini
