Najib: I'm a thief who steals people's hearts

Former premier Najib Abdul Razak has put his own twist on the 'Pencuriku' (my thief) moniker given to him by PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
"I'm a thief who steals people's hearts," he quipped to applause from shoppers at a hypermarket in Semenyih tonight, where he had attended a meet and greet programme.
Najib, who is facing a slew of corruption and misappropriation charges, was branded 'Pencuriku' by Azmin yesterday in mockery of the former premier's self-styled 'Bossku' (my boss) online persona.
“To me, he isn't 'Bossku' but ‘Pencuriku’,” the PKR leader remarked during the launch of the Wanita Pakatan Harapan operations room in Semenyih.
Arriving at the hypermarket at about 8.30pm, Najib was greeted by about 1,000 shoppers, and shouts of "Malu apa Bossku (My boss has nothing to be ashamed of)" and "Boss kita (Our boss)."
Najib, who indulged in a spot of shopping for himself, said he could not really survey the items on sale in the hypermarket due to the overwhelming crowd, but claimed that he has heard complaints of prices going up.
The Pekan MP added that he was invited to Semenyih by local BN leaders, and expressed his willingness to campaign for the March 2 by-election.
Also present were Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam, Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, and Selangor BN secretary Johan Aziz.
BN will announce its choice of candidate for the Semenyih polls tomorrow. - Mkini
