KUALA LUMPUR: The husband of an orphanage caretaker has been arrested and remanded following reports that he allegedly raped four teenage girls.
The suspect was detained on Thursday (Feb 7) following reports that he had raped and molested four girls at the centre located along Danau Kota here.
"The suspect has been remanded for seven days from Feb 8 to Feb 14," said City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Md Isa when contacted Sunday (Feb 10).
A local daily had reported that he had allegedly sexually assaulted four children aged between 12 and 16 since last year.
The report added that the centre was able to house about 20 children at one time but had been empty of late.- Star
