The former printer of PAS' party organ Harakah, Angkatan Edaran Sdn Bhd (Angkatan Edaran) has high hopes that monies owing to it will be repaid.
Its former managing director Azlan Jan said he was always open to discussing the matter with Harakah's management or PAS directly.
However, as a matter of principle, he declined to give details of how much was owed.
"Yes we are always open to discussing the issue, and hope they can settle the debt.
"Even after a company is declared bankrupt, the debt it owes remains," he told Malaysiakini when contacted today.
Earlier it was reported that PAS's official mouthpiece was in financial trouble, with debts reaching more than RM2 million.
Yesterday, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan (above) confirmed that Harakah had run into debt with its previous printer.
However, he denied that Harakah had deliberately “fled” from the previous company and hired a new printer.
“What happened was that the previous company had gone bankrupt, hence the change (to a new printer).
“I don’t want to say more, but the claim that we deliberately fled because we ran into debt is untrue,” he said.
Meanwhile, Azlan said the last time he had a discussion with Harakah was around 2017.
"After the bankruptcy, Harakah still printed with us through another company," he claimed.
He added that after a while, Harakah's management sent him a letter informing him that they intended to switch their printing to another company. - Mkini
