WORKERS in Phileo Damansara 2 and residents of Section 16 in Petaling Jaya are concerned about a landslip on the slope located between the commercial area and houses along Jalan Tuanku Salahuddin Shah 16/9, Petaling Jaya.
There has been some soil movement on the slope and the bare earth is visible from office blocks in Phileo Damansara 2.
They are afraid conditions will worsen with the recent excessive rainfall and the soil will slip further down the slope into the commercial area.
Star Media Group assistant chief photographer Ong Soon Hin said the incident happened over the past few days.
"I can see it clearly out of the window and it seems to have become worse," he said, adding that if there was a landslide, it would end up near the entrance to the basement parking lot.
Meanwhile, sales executive Edwin Chee said it was visible from ground level.
"I thought it was just a small landslip but on Friday (Oct 25), the landslip area has gotten bigger. I am worried about the safety of the residents living behind the slope," he said.
The Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MBPJ) has acknowledged the incident but has yet to comment on the matter. - Star
