MCA's potential Kulai candidate Chua Jian Boon has accused political rivals of using cybertroopers to attack him after a picture of him talking on two phones at once went viral last night.
Chua said the attacks yesterday were carried out by a political party that “held the Kulai parliamentary seat for 10 years” - a clear reference to DAP.
“The other side can't wait to attack (me). #BeraniKeranaBenar. This is a common tactic used for them to win the general election.
“(You have had) two terms, or 10 years in Kulai. How else do you want to con the Kulai people again? By using cybertroopers?
“The motivation was very clear when they dug out my post on Sept 5, even my family doesn’t follow my Facebook that much,” Chua posted on Facebook last night.
Although Chua did not mention names, DAP has held Kulai since 2013 after incumbent MP Teo Nie Ching won the seat from former MCA president Ong Ka Ting.
Accused of ‘overacting’
In a posting on Sept 5, Chua uploaded pictures of him engaging with patrons at a kopitiam in Kulai.
One of the photos showed the MCA man "answering" two phone calls simultaneously.
Part of the post in Chinese read: "This is the busiest coffee shop (in Kulai), a great place to listen to the people and discuss with them.
“(Although there are) too many calls to answer, Chua will answer them all."
The special officer to Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi was ridiculed for "overacting" in the photo, with some pointing out that Chua held one of the phones the wrong way around.
In his post last night, Chua urged voters to "reject the politician who hasn't changed for a decade".
“I am aware that there are more personal attacks to come, but it shows how there should be change in Kulai," he added. - Mkini
