Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi has “welcomed” Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to the "court cluster".
In a sarcastic statement posted on Facebook, Puad also questioned whether the former Bersatu Youth chief will contest in the 15th general election (GE15) following the court's decision.
"Of course, Syed Saddiq will say that it (the case) is selective prosecution by the (former prime minister) Muhyiddin (Yassin's) government.
"Will he (Syed Saddiq) contest in GE15, or clear his name first?" questioned Puad.
Puad said this following ruling by the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday that Syed Saddiq has to enter defence on four criminal charges linked to RM1.12 million of party funds.
This came after the prosecution proved a prima facie case against the incumbent Muar MP, the court ruled.
Syed Saddiq, however, has vowed to clear his name in court and he would leave it to the people of his parliamentary constituency in regard to the party’s campaign for GE15. - Mkini
