DAP's Lim Kit Siang urged PH to allow Tawfik to contest Bagan Datuk under PH 

PH should “give proper and positive response” to Tawfik’s request

“excellent way to highlight theme of GE15 – to ensure Umno / BN leaders do not escape court for corruption and sent to jail,” Lim said.

The coming election, happening on November 19, should be about fighting corruption and rebuilding Malaysia, he added.

Tawfik approached senior leaders from PH yesterday with his request

PH should give positive response to Tawfik Ismail’s request to contest under PH ticket against Zahid Hamidi in Bagan Datuk, said Lim Kit Siang.

Yesterday, Tawfik said he had met some senior PH leaders and conveyed his request 

 

My Comments 

This announcement by Mr Lim Kit Siang puts the Brader in a huge quandary.  Just two days ago that PKR fellow announced he will be contesting in Bagan Datuk. Obviously taking instructions from the Brader.

I read that announcement as simply the Brader throwing a lifeline to his life long BFF Zahid.

Putting a PKR candidate in Bagan Datuk will only split the vote in Bagan Datuk between Zahid, Tawfik, the PKR candidate and anyone else. Splitting the votes may help Zahid retain Bagan Datuk. 

If Zahid retains his seat in Bagan Datuk, then as UMNO president he is in a much better position to help the Brader in any "negotiations" if there is a hung Parliament.

Zahid has long been known to be a strong supporter of the Brader. Recall Pasir Salak's expose about that letter to the YDP Agong.  Now even Pasir Salak supports the Brader for PM !! 

So there are major games being played. 

Mr Lim Kit Siang says let Tawfik Tun Ismail contest the Bagan Datuk Parliamentary seat under the PH banner. This automatically means that the Brader's own PKR candidate (who is being sacrificed, simply to split the votes) will not be nominated. Also som of the PH machinery in Bagan Datuk will be mobilised to support Tawfik Tun Ismail. 

So will the Brader agree to this?

I dont think so.

The Brader absolutely needs Zahid to win in Bagan Datuk. Not only because Zahid and him are BFF (Best Friends Forever) but Zahid is UMNO president.   An Umno president can have a lot of things to offer. Of course, in exchange for  . . err . .
