PETALING JAYA: There are no secrets among Perikatan Nasional (PN) members, the coalition’s chairman, Muhyiddin Yassin, said last night.
He said that whether it was a meeting or a decision to be made, any action he took would be reported in detail to the coalition.
“Even (PAS president) Abdul Hadi Awang is like that. When there is good news or matters to be shared, he reports it to me. Nothing is hidden.
“For example, recently, there were discussions with other parties. Hadi informed me (that) nothing happened. If you want to discuss, then discuss,” he said at a dinner function, citing discussions between PAS and Umno.
The Bersatu president said the same trust and transparency also applied to Gerakan.
“Everything is discussed openly. There are no secrets among us,” he said.
On Monday, PAS announced that it would hold a meeting with Umno’s top leaders to discuss cooperation between them in the 15th general election (GE15).
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the cooperation involved 27 parliamentary seats and seats in several states such as Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang which they have the potential to win if there was an agreement between them.
“If not all seats, maybe in certain areas. It is not impossible,” he told a press conference.
However, he said any PAS discussion with parties outside PN would be reported to the PN presidential council to find the best way for a political consensus. - FMT
