PH to use current logo in GE15, says Anwar

PH’s current logo will still feature in the 15th general election.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan will stick to its current logo, for now, with Parliament expected to be dissolved anytime soon to pave the way for the 15th general election (GE15), Anwar Ibrahim said.

The opposition leader said while the coalition’s presidential council had agreed to use its new logo, they did not have much time to prepare as the nationwide polls could be held within the next few months.

Anwar said logistical problems could crop up should PH decide to go with the new logo.

“So we will use the old logo in GE15,” the PKR president said, adding that it was the “wisest and more rational” decision.

Anwar was speaking to reporters after chairing the presidential council meeting this evening.

In August, DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook said PKR had suggested that “minor changes” be made to the logo to rebrand PH’s image.

Loke said this when revealing that the coalition had agreed in principle to use one logo in GE15.

In the last general election, PH was forced to contest under the PKR logo after the Registrar of Societies refused to approve the coalition’s registration as a body and its logo, citing problems with the documentation provided by Bersatu, which was then one of its component parties.

On a separate issue, Anwar said PH had yet to decide whether to accept Muda into the coalition.

Negotiations, he said, were still ongoing between PH and Muda’s leaders.

It was reported yesterday that state PKR Youth chiefs signed an internal memorandum urging PH to reject Muda’s application to join the coalition.

PKR has been vocal against Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s party joining the coalition, claiming it did not add value to PH. - FMT
