Puteri Umno head Zahida Zarik Khan has described Pakatan Harapan as a "wholesaler" for national assets and thus, unworthy of support.
In a statement yesterday, Zahida (above) said during the Harapan administration, it allowed Khazanah Nasional Bhd to dispose of its interest in IHH Healthcare Bhd and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd.
Zahida also referred to Axiata Group's decision to sell its stake in Singapore mobile operator M1 Ltd. Axiata group is majority owned by several government-controlled funds.
"There was also a series of asset disposals involving Tabung Haji. All these assets and reserves which the previous BN governments had built were sold 'wholesale'," she said.
In late 2019, then Khazanah Nasional Bhd managing director Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said it was normal for the company to realise its investments and redeploy capital for new investments.
However, Zahida alleged that Harapan had sold off "national assets" in order to depict the previous governments as having "bankrupted" the country.
She also alleged that this was also Harapan's method of erasing BN's legacy.
"In the end, who benefits? Who loses? The Harapan ministers were sitting comfortably in Putrajaya while the people suffered.
"This time around, my brothers and sisters who have yet to make up your minds, choose the party that is capable of bringing stability and the best service to the people.
"Don't vote for the wrong people again," she said. - Mkini
