Today the Chinese President Xixinping lands in the US for his first official visit in about SIX years. So Mr Trump did not say anything about China.
It is a wide ranging speech which touches on many topics that will affect the fortunes of many other countries around the world. There is a very clear message for South America. They are going to get cleaned out. The days of the drug lords and drug cartels like Pablo Escobar, “El Chapo” Guzmán, Sinaloa Cartel, Medellín Cartel, Juárez Cartel, Guadalajara Cartel are already history. And there should be no recurrence. There is a new Sheriff in town.
Mr Trump has advised any country in the world that is a member of the International Criminal Court or ICC to cut ties with the ICC or face the consequences.
He also said that over 4,000 jobs have been cut at the United Nations itself - obviously by the US because the US does pay the UN's bills.
He dwells on Iran. Also on Ukraine and Russia where Mr Trump (for the first time) acknowledged that 25,000 Ukrainian troops are killed every month. That is 300,000 killed a year. For the past four years. He says the Ukraine war will come to a conclusion soon - we have heard this before but things do seem to be approaching a conclusion.
Oil is flowing through Hormuz again. Mr Trump says up to 32 oil tankers are moving through the Straits every day. Oil prices have dropped again. WTI hit US$90 per barrel today - down from US$104 per barrel just last week. Here is the speech.
