Man held for reckless driving in George Town, tests positive for drugs

 

A video which went viral showed the man driving recklessly around George Town, swerving between vehicles and driving between two lanes.

GEORGE TOWN: 

A man caught on video driving recklessly around the city here was arrested at 7.30pm last Thursday along Jalan Dato’ Keramat.

Timur Laut police chief Lee Swee Sake said the suspect, aged 38, tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, and has a record for criminal and drug offences.

He is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving, and also under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief after breaking the windscreen of a vehicle with his fist, a separate case that was reported on Thursday. - FMT
