KUALA LUMPUR
Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg is optimistic that the state’s airline will begin operations within the next two months.

(Negotiations with MASwings) concerning our airline could be resolved within two months, and we will have our own aircraft,
he said at the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2024 dinner at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre here today.

These planes will facilitate travel for Sarawakians between Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia,

Also present at the dinner were Sarawak governor Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof and Sarawakian MPs.

Abang Johari said the airline would also make it easier for visitors from other regions to travel to Sarawak, thus helping to promote the state’s many tourist attractions.

We’ll be able to bring tourists to Sarawak’s two Unesco World Heritage sites, namely the Gunung Mulu National Park and Niah National Park,
 he said.

Abang Johari previously said Sarawak’s plan to launch its own airline was expected to materialise by the end of this year, a move seen as crucial to boosting the state’s tourism and connectivity. - FMT
