PETALING JAYA: Selangor civil servants will receive a two-month salary bonus in recognition of their commitment to developing the state, says menteri besar Amirudin Shari.
Amirudin, who made the announcement when tabling the state’s 2025 budget here today, said the aid will be disbursed in two parts.
The first part will be paid on Dec 31 and the second on March 25 next year in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration, Bernama reported.
“I am pleased to announce that this aid is in addition to the previous aid for Selangor’s civil servants disbursed on Feb 1 and again before the (2024) Aidilfitri celebration,” Amirudin said.
He said Selangor had several achievements last year, including being the first state in Malaysia to record more than RM400 billion in economic activity.
“In addition to that, the value and collection of revenue has exceeded the target from year to year, increasing by RM751 million to RM4.36 billion,” he said.
“All this is the result of the efforts and commitment of the entire team, including officers in all nine districts and 12 local authorities.”
The Selangor government today tabled a RM3 billion budget for next year, with RM1.7 billion (56.7%) allocated for operating expenditure and RM1.3 billion (43.3%) for development expenditure.
The proposed budget is slightly higher than 2024’s RM2.53 billion budget, of which RM1.33 billion (52.6%) was set aside for operating expenditure and RM1.2 billion (47.4%) for development expenditure. - FMT
