DAPSY to Akmal: You can’t have your cake and eat it too, so resign immediately and join PAS

INSTEAD of talking at length, Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh should set an example by resigning as the Melaka state government EXCO and becoming a UMNO Youth pioneer in joining PAS.

Cooperation between political parties based on consensus is common in politics. The consensus among the various parties of the unity government is to govern together until the end of this term.

A stable government is needed in the post-pandemic and uncertain economic situation.

Akmal should explain what the Malay community really needs instead of busy chanting the slogan “Malay unity”.

The fact is that a multi-racial community does not need empty rhetoric, excessive political drama or divisive politics based on race but instead needs effective government policies to improve the quality of life of the people.

‘Flop even when shouting Malay unity slogan’

The backdoor government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also once chanted the Malay unity slogan but his administration proved to be a failure until the people were forced to raise the white flag.

Political stability was only achieved his successor Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pakatan Harapan (PH) and implemented the Anti-Party Jumping Act.

Perhaps Akmal who is more suited to lead Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth forgot that UMNO itself was once a victim when PAS alongside Bersatu emerged the biggest competitors, thus snatching most of the seats from UMNO.

The funny thing is that PN which is the loudest in shouting Malay unity is now also seen to be increasingly divided.

Unfortunately, parties that are busy dividing and failing to govern their own state well are recommended as strategic partners by a youth leader who is a doctor.

Acting without consent

The close relationship between Akmal and PAS is actually no secret for Akmal has never been embarrassed by allegations that he is acting like a PN agent. What is strange is that the main leaders in his party have never supported or confirmed his stance.

All those who are politically savvy will realise that Akmal’s slogan is just a political stunt and will not be welcomed, hence Akmal can set an example by resigning from UMNO first. If not, this is tantamount to talk the talk but don’t walk the walk,

Surprisingly, Akmal himself does not dare to relinquish power and position but keeps urging his own party leaders to leave the government.

When Akmal says that he wants to be with PAS to defend the rights of the Malays, is he accusing the entire government, including the Deputy Prime Minister, ministers and Menteri Besar from UMNO of having failedg to defend the interests of the Malays? The answer is clear and unequivocal.

Akmal’s baseless accusation is quite serious and therefore it is high time for the UMNO leadership to come forward to refute such accusation.

Leave the Melaka state government first if you dare, instead of chanting slogans day in day out to gain sympathy. Be a man.
