SEGAMAT: A motorcyclist was burnt after being trapped under a lorry in an accident on Jalan Tenang Jaya, Pekan Tenang yesterday.
The accident is believed to have occurred at around 7pm, resulting in the death of the 27-year-old male victim at the scene.
Labıs Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Hairishah Wahid said the team was alerted to the accident at 7.15pm.
Upon reaching the scene, rescuers observed that a lorry and a motorcycle had collided, resulting in a fire.
"As a result of the accident, the rider and a Yamaha LC135 motorcycle were trapped under the lorry and caught fire.
"The rider and motorcycle were about 90 per cent burnt, while the lorry was 30 per cent damaged by fire.
"The lorry driver was not at the scene at the time of the incident," Hairishah said in a statement today.
He said the victim's body was later handed over to the police, with the fire extinguishing operation completed at 9.14pm. - NST
