1,304 road crashes, 15 deaths on first day of Raya

 This is a decline compared with the 1,515 accidents and 26 fatalities reported on Friday.

PETALING JAYA:
 A total of 1,304 road accidents were reported on the first day of Aidilfitri yesterday, with 15 fatalities recorded.

In a Facebook post, Bukit Aman’s traffic investigation and enforcement department said this was an overall decline compared with the 1,515 accidents and 26 fatalities reported on Friday.

More than 2.3 million vehicles are expected on highways over the festive season, while Bukit Aman deployed 5,544 traffic policemen nationwide to ensure road safety and reduce crashes as well as congestion. - FMT
