KUALA LUMPUR: A distressing video of a dog tied to the back of a moving car and dragged along a road has sparked a firestorm of criticism on social media.
The footage, originally posted on Feb 21, has been reshared across several groups used for content amplification and monetisation.
The clip, which has now gone viral, has drawn condemnation. It is unclear when and where in Malaysia the incident took place.
While it is unknown if the person who filmed it attempted to stop the abuse, netizens have lambasted both parties.
"Why are you still recording when there is animal cruelty happening right in front of you? It is also a creation of Allah," wrote user Areil Muhammad.
Other users, including Msd Suria Edogawa and Sue Lala, suggested the incident may have been exploited for content creation.
Meanwhile, user Raman Anthony urged the public to move beyond online comments, saying a police report must be lodged. - NST
